Kulture & Kicks 2024: Soiree and Silent Auction

The inaugural “Kulture & Kicks” soiree and silent auction will be held on Thursday, September 19 - on North Texas Giving Day - at 7:00pm CST at the Daisha Board Gallery, 2720 Bataan Street, Dallas, Texas 75212. Purchase tickets here!

The evening promises to be an unforgettable celebration of wellness, culture, art, and community. Guests will enjoy a sophisticated, culturally curated experience with live entertainment, chef prepared tastings, and an exclusive silent auction featuring unique items and experiences. Kulture & Kicks will also serve as an opportunity to learn more about Litehouse Wellness’ impactful work and how community support can make a significant difference.

Rebirth in the Clearing Retreat for Black Women

During this weekend of radical rest and rejuvenation hosted by Manelock Communications, LLC and Litehouse Wellness, guests will experience 24 hours of silence - clearing the path to be still, and listen to nature, ancestral whispers, and messages of healing. The weekend also includes rituals for release, receptivity and replenishment. There will be sound bathing, meditation, reflective journaling, nature walks, music, song, stretching, free movement and delicious plant-based nourishment.

Our guests will lodge at Ibu Hall, the spacious climate-controlled retreat center and the stand-alone huts near the pond that offer a village-like experience.

The Dock: Group Therapy for Black Men

The Dock: Free, virtual and in-person safe spaces for Black men to regularly engage in mental health conversations. This initiative kicks off Sunday, February 26th, 2023 at 5pm at APAA located at 2800 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Dallas, Texas 75215. This in-person event invites participants to connect with each other as well as the facilitators who are licensed, Black, male therapists in the State of Texas:

Derek Bassey, LPC; Scott Davis, M.A., LPC of Scott Davis Counseling Services; and Sékou Fraser, PhD, LPC of Sage Therapy Group.

​The Dock has two purposes:1) to serve as a point of entry for 1:1 accessible therapy for Black men; and  2) to provide regular opportunities for Black men to normalize candid group conversations around topics impacting their psycho-emotional wellbeing.

Black men in North Texas now have this unique opportunity to access Black, male, mental health professionals and one another in a safe and healthy group setting for the ultimate brotherhood.

Higher Ground Retreat for Men of Color

Higher Ground is an annual retreat for Men of Color facilitated by Litehouse Wellness. This year our host is Blackland Ranch, a 40-acre retreat center located just 59 miles east of downtown Dallas, Texas, where Brothas are invited to explore restorative practices designed to raise consciousness and life force energy through nourishing, chef-prepared, plant-based meals, Sweat ceremony, Cacao meditation, drumming, nature, sound, movement and rest.

Facilitators include esteemed knowledge keeper and elder - Baba Kwame Sun Horse; Capoeira master and multi-disciplinary artist - Alejandro "AP" Perez, Jr., author and award winning poet - Terry Odis; yoga teacher - Francisco Martinez, and yoga, meditation guide and Litehouse Wellness founder - Sherri Doucette.
